How It Works
Most vehicles use a 50/50 antifreeze-to-water ratio, which protects to -34F. For extreme cold, use 60/40 (-62F protection) or 70/30 (-84F) — never exceed 70% antifreeze as it actually reduces heat transfer. Always use distilled water, not tap water, to prevent mineral deposits. Coolant should be flushed every 30,000-50,000 miles or 5 years. Different coolant types (green, orange/Dex-Cool, pink/Asian) should never be mixed. Check your owner manual for the correct type.
